The Chartered Institute of Directors Nigeria organizes a variety of events and initiatives aimed at fostering leadership excellence, promoting business growth, and encouraging professional development among members. Below are some of the remarkable events hosted by the Institute:

Annual Directors Conference

The CIoD Nigeria Annual Directors Conference is the institute’s flagship event, which is attended by all directors who are both members and non-members of CIoD Nigeria. Attendees are captains of industry and directors in both private and public sectors of the Nigerian economy.

The Conference offers participants the opportunity to examine contemporary national and global issues affecting leadership, ethics, corporate governance and sustainability of Nigeria’s businesses and the economy. Additionally, it’s a place where management and board members take advantage of this once-a-year opportunity to network and develop business ventures for their respective organizations.

The Conference is concluded with a Government Meets Business Dinner” which is an exclusive high-profile event which attracts a cross section of notable Business Leaders and Captains of Industry in the private sector who will get the chance to meet and interact with Nigeria’s top-level public-sector technocrats and policy makers.

Annual Directors Dinner & Awards Night

The prestigious Chartered Institute of Directors Nigeria Annual Directors Dinner & Awards Night serves as the culmination of CIoD Nigeria’s yearly events. The crème de la crème of corporate society, industry icons, and influential decision-makers from the public and private sectors are drawn to it.

The CIoD Nigeria Annual Awards are given out during the event to deserving businesses and individuals who have excelled in their industries and contributed to the Nigerian business community and economy as a whole.

Women Directors Conference

The CIoD Nigeria Women Directors Conference was designed as a forum for all public, private, and non-profit organizations to unite around the shared goal of increasing women’s economic opportunities in Nigeria through the sharing of innovative ideas and practical solutions developed by female leaders from a variety of backgrounds.

It is a strategic conference for Women Directors and Leaders at key levels of the economy whose focus is the advancement of Nigerian women across the nation. Participation in this important event is reserved mainly for female leaders in business, politics, culture and not-for-profit.

Women Directors Luncheon

The CIoD Nigeria Women Directors Luncheon was designed as a forum for all public, private, and non-profit organizations to unite around the shared goal of increasing women’s economic opportunities in Nigeria through the sharing of innovative ideas and practical solutions developed by female leaders from a variety of backgrounds.

It is a strategic luncheon for Women Directors and Leaders at key levels of the economy whose focus is the advancement of Nigerian women across the nation. Participation in this important event is reserved mainly for female leaders in business, politics, culture and not-for-profit.

New Members Induction

The CloD Nigeria New Members’ Induction is one of the Institute major programmes.

This event introduces the Institute to new members and serves as the admission ceremonies for new members. At the event, the Institute’s leadership welcome the new members of the Institute, in a formal induction programme, which has a lot of pomp and pageantry.

During the programmes, Inductees are presented with Membership certificates and customized CloD branded signature items.

A Guest Speaker is invited to speak on issues affecting the economy and to set the tone for general and fruitful discussions that Directors will find relevant for successful direction of their organisations

Members Evening

Members’ Evening provides a platform where members and non-members of the Institute meet and network, exchange views and opinions about socioeconomic and business trends in the Nigerian business environment.

Members of the Institute as Directors, business owners, and business leaders in the country are constantly searching ideas on how to improv the financial and economic performance of their businesses and generally on how they can best govern these organisations. This is therefore an interactive session that provides such opportunities. To make the event worth the while we invite guest speakers to address participants on contemporary business issues or government policies as they affect industries and businesses.

We also use the opportunity to advocate for a better business environment posturing policy option that can influence government decisions towards favorable policies.

Fellows Night and Investiture

Fellows’ Night & Investiture is an annual event of the Chartered Institute of Directors Nigeria where the prestigious fellowship status of the Institute is conferred on deserving members of the Institute. The Fellowship of the Institute is a status defining position which confers on the bearer high level competence and responsibility

Fellowship of CloD Nigeria is conferred only on a few deserving members and non-members of the Institute who have meritoriously distinguished themselves while making notable contributions to the success of the Institute their respective organizations and the economy as a whole.

Biennial Lecture

The CIoD Nigeria Biennial Lecture, which is held once in two years, is a valedictory event organized in honour of the out-going Presidents & Chairmen of the Governing Council of the Institute at the twilight of their two year tenure. The event is very significant to the Institute and the out-going President and is attended by captains of industry, leading corporate governance practitioners, thought leaders and directors from the public and private sectors of the Nigerian economy.

Presidential Investiture

The CIoD Nigeria Presidential Investiture is organized to formally swear-in the incoming President & Chairman of the Governing Council. The event is very significant to the Institute. It is attended by captains of industry, leading corporate governance practitioners, thought leaders and directors from the public and private sectors of the Nigerian economy.

CEO’s Luncheon

The CIoD CEO Luncheon is a premier gathering of top CEOs, industry leaders, and senior executives, designed to foster high-level networking, strategic discussions, and knowledge sharing.

This exclusive event will highlight key topics in leadership, corporate governance, and emerging business trends while showcasing CIoD Nigeria’s role in promoting governance excellence.

The luncheon aims to strengthen industry connections, enhance collaboration, and generate interest in CIoD membership and initiatives.

Walk for Life

Walk for Life – CIoD Nigeria recognizes that the health and well-being of Directors are crucial factors that help to achieve set objectives. The ‘’Walk for Life’’ programme is, therefore, an event designed to stimulate Directors into making time for regular fitness activities as a sedentary lifestyle has been identified as a major cause of serious illnesses ranging from obesity to heart conditions etc.
