Becoming a Chartered Director

About The Register

Your Chartered Directorship Journey Begins Here

The conferment of Chartered status on CIoD Nigeria on May 26, 2023 significantly elevated the standards of professional directorship for its members and corporate governance leaders across Nigeria. CIoD continues to play a pioneering role in producing chartered directors whose capacity and competencies match those produced in other jurisdictions worldwide.

The Chartered Directors Certification Programme equips directors and senior executives with the knowledge, skills, and practical experience required to lead boards with integrity, foresight, and effectiveness. The programme integrates participants’ expertise, leadership capabilities, and hands-on board experience, providing a comprehensive assessment of their competence in governance, strategy, finance, sustainability, digital transformation, and emerging corporate challenges.

Graduates of the programme earn the prestigious Chartered Director (Ch.Dir) designation, recognized nationally and internationally, and are entitled to use the suffix ‘Ch.Dir’ after their names.
